Over the past few months, I’ve really enjoyed mixing several sides for gifted singer/songwriter Levi Hummon and producer Jimmy Robbins, including a really cool duet with the amazing Allison Krause.  Two of the songs can be found on Levi’s self-titled EP, where one of the best in the biz – Chris Lord-Alge – was the other mixer.  I’ve been rockin’ out to CLA’s mixes since the ’80s!  No pressure, right?!?

This song just keeps on giving – Billboard, AMA, CMA, ACM, even nominated for a Grammy -, and rightfully so.  I was asked by producer Dann Huff to touch up the vocals on several sides on this record, but honestly there wasn’t much to do on TR’s delivery of this one.  As this huge hit demonstrates, it’s all about the performance…  and a great song of course.  Congrats to TR and all who contributed to this one.  Didn’t he just win ACM Male Vocalist of the Year too?  Just saying…

Reba McEntire’s Sing It Now – Songs of Faith and Hope debuted at #1 on both Billboard Country and Christian charts, won a Dove, and has now won a GRAMMY!  I had the honor of mixing, engineering, and editing a large portion of this double-disc project, and more importantly I got to work with REBA!  What a wonderful example of kind, smart and professional star!
